The Humor Network Creates New Mail Server System

  • January 2, 2001
When The Humor Network distributes daily doses of humor to its more than 2 million subscribers this year, the jokes will originate from a new state-of-the-art server developed in-house and designed to expand the E-Mail marketer's capabilities. The new system, called OptaMail, will make it easier to track, monitor and report on the E-Mails The Humor Network distributes to subscribers each morning. The company had been sending its E-Mails via Cheetahmail, but advertisers and clients increasingly were requesting information and services that are not available through traditional providers. As a result, The Humor Network decided to build its own system.

According to Eric Targan, founder, CEO and Jokemaster of The Humor Network, the company plans to make OptaMail available to other companies. OptaMail is already sending out over 72 million e-mail's per month for The Humor Network as well as for a few other companies.
