Dana Chinn, a media analytics strategist and faculty member at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, has been named director of the Norman
Lear Center’s Media Impact Project (MIP). The MIP is a joint project between the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, which aims to
advance audience measurement research and ultimately help news organizations understand how to build and retain audiences in the digital age. The project is supported by grants from the Bill &
Melinda Gates Foundation, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Open Society Foundations.
