VNU Elevates Holt To Editorial Chief

Sid Holt, executive vice president and editor-in-chief of VNU's Adweek Magazines unit, has been named editorial director of VNU Business Media, the operating unit that encompasses 52 trade publications, including Adweek, Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, as well as their Web sites and electronic newsletters. VNU has gradually been restructuring its holdings, making it even more focused on research and data services such as its Nielsen units, and has recently sold off some publishing assets. The company said its business publications have been hit hard by the advertising recession, but are starting to show an uptick as advertising economy gains momentum.
