Ruffles, NBA Black History Month Promo Benefits Thurgood Marshall College Fund

Frito-Lay's Ruffles brand has teamed with the National Basketball Association for a Black History Month promotional program that will benefit the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF).

Through Feb. 29, fans are being invited to log on to CelebrateBlackHistory.com to choose their own "star lineups" by listing five people who "are MVPs in their own lives." Participants may choose historical figures, as well as friends, family members and other real-life "stars" who have helped shape their lives.

For every Star Lineup submitted, Ruffles will make a $1 donation to the TMCF, up to a maximum of $25,000.

In addition, all participants will be entered into a sweepstakes with a grand prize of a trip for two to a 2016 NBA Finals game. Each day during the promotion, Ruffles will also give away four prizes of $200 NBA Store gift cards.

TMCF is the only national organization advocating for the 47 publicly supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities, helping students acquire a high-quality college education at an affordable cost.

"Frito-Lay has a long-standing tradition of celebrating Black History Month by creating consumer marketing programs that help provide African American students with the opportunity to receive an excellent education," said Frito-Lay Senior Director of Marketing Haston Lewis. "This year, the Ruffles brand is leveraging its relationship with the NBA to recognize and honor the superstars in everyday life."
