Time Warner Fuses AOL, Road Runner For Subscribers, Advertisers

  • January 31, 2005
Time Warner Monday unveiled plans for a new broadband Internet offering that would combine the bandwidth of Time Warner's high-speed Road Runner service with the competitive subscription prices of its AOL premium service. The company said the move is intended to accelerate broadband subscriptions and to facilitate a broadband advertising marketplace. The new service will provide unlimited broadband access, as well as 10 hours of dial-up monthly. The price of the service will depend on connectivity speeds. In a related move, Time Warner said AOL would manage and sell advertising and search inventory for both the new offering and Road Runner.com. In addition, AOL will be able to provide commerce opportunities and premium services to the subscribers of the new offering and Road Runner.
