Congressional endorsements have been hard to come by for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Now, he has finally convinced one of his colleagues in the Senate to stand with him. Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley wrote in The New York Times that he deeply respects the work Hillary Clinton has done as first lady, senator and Secretary of State, but explains that “Bernie Sanders is boldly and fiercely addressing the biggest challenges facing our country.” Merkley pointed to objections to trade deals as a strong rallying point for Sanders.
