WPP Group's Mediaedge:cia and Omnicom's OMD will divide various media buying and planning work on the estimated $925 million Cingular Wireless account, a spokesman for the cell phone services provider
said Friday.
Broadcast duties will be handled by Mediaedge:cia, while OMD will run the print work and radio buying, sources added. The decision resulted from Cingular's purchase of AT&T
Wireless last October. Before that merger, Mediaedge:cia handled AT&T Wireless and OMD handled Cingular.
