Style Network Slates 'Craft Corner Deathmatch'

With Martha Stewart out of prison and no doubt ready to reclaim her throne as America's domestic doyenne, the Style Network is preparing to meet the challenge with Craft Corner Deathmatch, a comedy series being billed as "Martha Stewart Living meets Iron Chef meets... Gladiator."

The first of 13 shows is set to air this Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. EST.

"The series offers a unique twist on lifestyle service and game shows by blending the hugely popular craft and design genre with the outrageous and comedic notion that creating homemade handiwork is an extreme sport," said a Style Network spokesman.

Hosted by comedian Jason Jones, the competition pits amateur "do-it-yourselfers" against each other in various craft-making challenges.

Armed with nothing more than a hot glue gun and a few essentials (scissors, twine, glitter, etc), the contestants vie to create their best homemade designs. The projects are then critiqued by a panel of expert judges based on technique, utility, and creativity, and the winner of the first two rounds advances to face off with Craft Corner Deathmatch's Craft Lady of Steel (no, it's not Martha).

"We don't know what sort of product placements will be associated with the show, but hopefully, advertisers will be able to show their senses of humor," the Style Network's spokesman said.
