Seven years after it was founded by former Havas Digital chief Don
Epperson and a team former Collective Media execs, Simpli.fi has exited.
In a deal announced Thursday, Chicago-based private equity firm GTCR said it agreed to acquire a majority
stake in Fort Worth, Texas-based Simplifi Holdings.
GTCR said it will work with Frost Prioleau and Paul Harrison, the former Collective executives who co-founded Simpli.fi with
Epperson, and the current management team as they continue to expand its marketplace, backed by “additional equity capital to fund future acquisitions and organic initiatives.”
Terms of the private deal were not disclosed, but Progress Ventures, an early funder of Simpli.fi, described it as a “significant exit.”
