Editor of 'Us Weekly,' 'Star' And 'OK! Magazine' Exits

James Heidenry, editor-in-chief of American Media Inc.’s Us Weekly, Star and OK! magazine titles, is leaving the company, effective immediately.

Heidenry, who joined AMI in 2012, was named editor-in-chief of Us Weekly in April after the magazine was bought from Wenner Media.

AMI did not immediately respond to requests for comment on why Heidenry has left the company.

The company also announced today Dylan Howard has been promoted to Chief Content Officer of the AMI Celebrity Group. Howard will oversee all of AMI's celebrity brands, including Us Weekly. He also oversees AMI’s other titles, including the National Enquirer, Globe and Radar Online.

"This new structure will bring seamless integration between our celebrity print and digital teams, help create a clear vision for the future and ensure we make the most of our opportunities for collaboration,” stated AMI chairman and CEO David J. Pecker.

Howard’s first move is to promote managing editor of Us Weekly, Jennifer Peros, to editor. James Robertson has been named editor of OK!, as well as news director.

Peros joined AMI in August from CBS’ "Entertainment Tonight." Robertson was hired last year as an associate editor and national correspondent.
