'TeenVogue' Reveals Young Hollywood Digital Cover Package

Digital media darling Teen Vogue has just published its first cover package focused on eight up-and-coming actresses called “2018 Young Hollywood.”

Spotlighting Bria Vinaite, Sasha Lane, Margaret Qualley, Ellie Bamber, Letitia Wright, Laura Harrier, Storm Reid and Awkwafina, the issue features nine covers shot by Camila Falquez. There is one group shot of the eight actresses and a solo shot of each accompanied by an in-depth profile.

The package was inspired by the Times Up movement. A video called “Our Time is Now” accompanies the editorial, offering each of the women a place to speak about what changes she hopes to see in Hollywood, including a rise in prominence for women directors and writers and more representation for people of color.

The young actresses also speak deeply about today’s most fraught political and cultural topics, each using the platform to address the issues most important to them.

Reid, 14, who has appeared in 12 Years A Slave, speaks about her upcoming role in the live-action adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time and the importance of diversity. “I feel like there's just gonna be a lot of change, and who knows where we're gonna be in 10 years with Hollywood or even the world. But hopefully, we'll be in a better space, and people can come together and actually make beautiful art, equally, and be treated the same way.”

Lane, a 22-year-old actress set to star in the reboot of Hellboy, speaks directly about the #TimesUp and #OscarsSoWhite intiatives, stating: “People want to be represented; people want to be seen. You want to see yourself on screen, so you have something to relate to. You can feel comfortable.”

Teen Vogue reports this is the first in an ongoing series of cover packages.

The package comes just as Conde Nast announced the launch of its Next Gen Network, which includes Teen Vogue. It offers a platform for promoting its digital brands, such as Teen Vogue and GQ Style, in addition to videos on its Iris platform and other brand-relevant content.
