Microsoft is advertising its music products--including portable music players, media platforms, keyboards, and microphones--on the Live 8 concert site, hosted by AOL.com, a rival to Microsoft's search
and portal offering, MSN.com. The rich media ad, which uses the tagline "Start something sonic," appears on the official Live 8 page, and Windows XP is noted as the sponsor of AOL's coverage of the
concert in the header of the page. The ad and sponsorship is part of an 15-month ad campaign--based on the tagline "start something"--that began in April for Windows XP, including a host of online,
print, and television buys by aQuantive.
