KFC Offers Dutch Treat In McDonald's Crispy Chicken Recipe Hack

The Netherlands’ KFC has come up with a way to hack McDonald’s ads for its Crispy Chicken Burger there. Last week, the hamburger giant told consumers to forget everything they know about chicken and invited them to try its new product.

KFC, owner of the “Original Recipe Chicken,” took offense and had its ad agency, Ogilvy & Mather Amsterdam, come up with a response. Voila, the #gettheoriginal scanner. According to the agency, consumers take a photo of an ad for McDonald’s Crispy Chicken Burger using www.gettheoriginal.nl. KFC scans the photo and immediately declares, “That is not Original Recipe.”

A discount coupon is offered for the real deal at KFC. “Once you’ve tasted it, you forget everything McDonald’ls has tried to tell you about chicken.”
