Weather Channel Bolsters Ad Sales Team, Taps Former Time Warner Execs

In a move to bolster its burgeoning sales organization, The Weather Channel has recruited two former top sales executives of Time Warner - one from the cable side, the other from print.

On Tuesday, TWC announced that well-known cable ad sales executive Liz Janneman has joined as senior vice president-cable ad sales. Janneman, who will report to Paul Iaffaldano, executive vice president and general manager of TWC Media Solutions, had previously been executive vice president-sales at Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting unit. Before that, she was a key cable buying director at Saatchi & Saatchi.

Recently, TWC also hired Sheila Buckley, a 20-year veteran of Time Inc., who most recently as associate publisher of Sports Illustrated magazine to become vice president-sales for Weather.com.
