Carrie Reynolds will become the first Chief Revenue Officer of Apartment Therapy Media, the publisher of home design and decor site Apartment Therapy and food-focused Kitchn.
She will lead efforts to grow revenue across the company’s brands, such as branded entertainment, direct sales, programmatic and commerce. Her new role begins August 1.
Reynolds said she will work “to develop even more innovative and impactful partnerships for marketers and consumers alike” and drive the company’s “next phase of growth."
"Our new scale and ambition to be the leading voice in how a new generation lives at home requires a whole new level of expertise,” said Maxwell Ryan, Apartment Therapy Media founder-CEO. He added Reynolds hire brings "monetization prowess, creative solution development and client centricity."
Reynolds was previously Chief Revenue Officer for Well+Good.
She has also served as the president of revenue for Nylon magazine and vice president of national enterprise sales-custom marketing solutions at the XO Group, which publishes The Knot and the Nest.
Apartment Therapy has hired new talent in the past year. The site got a new editor-in-chief back in December: Laura Schocker, former RealSimple.com digital director. It also hired its first Chief Content Officer, Susan Kaplow, last summer.
Apartment Therapy claims it has experienced 23% audience growth year-over-year, based on comScore numbers.
In January,Publishers Daily reported Apartment Therapy increased its onsite conversion rates by 63% with the use of digital marketing solutions provider PostUp. Conversions are people who are served newsletter pop-ups and sign up to subscribe, versus people who see the module and opt out.
Combined with Kitchn, Apartment Therapy Media achieved a 90% increase in new onsite newsletter subscribers since the publisher adopted PostUp's solutions in May 2017, compared to the year prior.
