Valimail Provides DMARC Service To Office 365 Users

Valimail, a provider of email authentication services, has joined the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association and will offer DMARC coverage free to Microsoft Office 365 customers.

The objective is to give Office 365 users “visibility and control over how domains are being used — and abused — to send email,” states Steve Mock, vice president for business development at Valimail.

Built from its IDEA platform, Valimail’s new DMARC for Office 365 will provide email users with knowledge of all senders worldwide who send email “as” them, the company says.

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) is a standard email verification tool that purportedly detects and blocks impersonation attacks while improving email deliverability and protecting a company’s brand.

Microsoft hopes to give its customers “greater ability to protect their users and gain control over how their email domains are being used,” states Ryan McGee, director, Microsoft security marketing at Microsoft Corp.
