Nancy Fletcher To Retire, Search For New OAAA Chief Begun

Nancy Fletcher, head of the Outdoor Advertising Association (OAAA) since 1991, is stepping down as president and CEO at the end of 2019. No successor has been named, but the OAAA said a search is being conducted by Rafkin & Company.

During her tenure, the U.S. out-of-home advertising marketplace has tripled, and its digital segment has become one of the fastest-growing parts of the media industry.

The OAAA said the U.S. out-of-home ad marketplace has expanded each of the “last 34 consecutive quarters.”

According to a report released last week by IPG Mediabrands’ Rapport and Magna units, the global out-of-home media marketplace is projected to 3% annually over the next five years, the only “traditional” medium projected to expand.

The report also estimated that out-of-home currently has a 10% share of the global advertising marketplace.

Prior to joining the OAAA in 1991, Fletcher was president and general manager of the Twin Cities market for Naegele Outdoor Advertising in Minneapolis, which she joined in 1978.

According to the OAAA’s 2016 tax filing, the last one available from the Internal Revenue Service, Fletcher received $918,127 in compensation from the OAAA that year.
