Rakuten Campaign Kicks Off North American Debut

Shopper rewards app Rakuten has launched its first North American TV ad campaign, which kicked off during Sunday’s telecast of the Grammy Awards. 

The campaign, from ad agency Duncan Channon, launches the brand and its ecommerce loyalty program in the U.S. and Canada. 

Two spots in the campaign were directed by Vania & Muggia, known for their work on music videos for artists like Coldplay, Bob Dylan and DJ Snake. Sample the work here and here.  

Rakuten has been planning its expansion to North America since acquiring Ebates for $1 billion in 2014.
