'The Knot,' 'WeddingWire' Combine To Become The Knot Worldwide

Three months after XO Group Inc., the owner of wedding site The Knot, and WeddingWire, Inc. announced they would merge in a $933 million deal, the two companies have come together as The Knot Worldwide.

"The Knot launched over 20 years ago as the first digital wedding planning resource. Now the beloved, trusted brand has expanded to form the largest global wedding company worldwide,” stated Tim Chi, the new CEO, The Knot Worldwide. He was previously CEO of WeddingWire.

Mike Steib, former CEO of XO Group, will join the board of directors and serve as vice chairman of the company.

The company will serve over 20 million unique visitors with information on wedding marketplaces, wedding websites, planning tools and registry services, through The Knot  and WeddingWire, as well as its other brands: The Bump for pregnancy and parenting, GigMasters for entertainment vendors, Lasting for marriage content, Bodas for Spanish-language wedding planning and How They Asked for proposal stories and ideas.

The Knot Worldwide now has a combined directory of over 700,000 local wedding vendors and 7 million consumer reviews globally.

The new executive team is a combination of execs from XO Group and WeddingWire.

Mike Beach will serve as Chief Financial Officer, Dhanusha Sivajee as Chief Marketing Officer, Lee Wang as Chief Operating Officer and Jeff Yeh as Chief Technology Officer.

Beach, Wang and Yeh come from WeddingWire, while Sivajee was previously CMO at XO Group.
