Spectrum Reportedly Down In Parts Of U.S.

The problems began at 3:54 a.m. EDT, according to downdetector. The outages appear to be heaviest on the East Coast and in Texas and Southern California.

Service appears to be returning to the New York City area, but information is sketchy on other locales.

Of the hundreds of reports coming in to downdetector, 87% are for lack of internet service, 6% for TV and 5% for total blackout.

“Down in Colorado,” writes one customer in a Tuesday morning post on downdetector. “Internet’s been on and off for over a week!!”

“Internet out in 53558 for second day in a row,” writes another. This happens too often. Do bills get credited for outage time? They should!”

In at least one locale, the outage halted 911 service.

“The Washington County Department of Public Safety is alerting the public that Charter/Spectrum internet phone customers may be without 911 service,” the Post Star reports.

It adds that the company acknowledges it is experiencing problems, but that no further information is available.

On July 2, Spectrum outages were reported in several areas throughout the U.S.
