Yamamoto Adds CCO

Yamamoto is naming Grant Smith as the MDC Partners-owned agency's Chief Creative Officer. He is tasked with driving Yamamoto’s growth as a full-service creative agency and elevating the agency’s creative output across teams and clients. He reports to Yamamoto CEO Kathy McCuskey.

Smith will relocate to Minneapolis from New York where he recently left McCann NY after serving as executive creative director. While at McCann he's credited with helping to win the Chick-Fil-A business. Previously, Smith worked as senior creative Director at BBDO NY, overseeing the launch of AT&T’s “It’s not complicated” campaign.

Smith's arrival follows the departure of executive creative director Andy Theiman in the spring.
