Vox Media's Chorus Partners With Revolt Media & TV

Vox Media’s proprietary publishing platform Chorus announced this week it has partnered with Revolt, Sean “Diddy” Combs’s hip-hop media and TV content provider.

Revolt also joins Vox Media’s advertising marketplace Concert as it becomes a partner of Chorus.

Revolt features more than 40 hours of original content each week, including its morning talk show “The Breakfast Club,” featuring radio personalities Charlemagne tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee and Joe Budden’s “State of the Culture,” cohosted by Remy Ma and Jinx. 

A new stand-up series called “Funny AF,” which showcases up-and-coming-comedians telling stories about life and hip-hop culture, will also air on the platform.

Revolt launched six years ago, covering music, comedy, fashion, live performances and festivals, breaking news, social justice and politics.

The hip-hop outlet joins brands like the Chicago Sun-TimesFunny or Die and TV brand This Old House as a member of Chorus. It currently powers more than 350 websites.

“As Revolt’s content development, creation and ultimate consumption grows at record pace, Chorus allows us to evolve our experience by enhancing discovery, increasing publisher tools and expanding the monetization opportunities for advertisers within our ultra-premium environment,” Hunter Spinks, senior vice president, product at Revolt TV, stated.

Vox Media began to license Chorus in the summer of 2018.

This summer, the division announced it had increased staff over the course of a year to include more than 150 full-time employees and expects to increase staff by 50% by year’s end.

At the same time, Chorus announced the promotion of three of its staffers to new vice president positions across its product, business development and design teams, including the newly created position of vice president, business development.
