Omnicom CRM shop Precision Marketing Group is moving deeper into AI, announcing it has acquired a majority stake in marketing technology developer Smart Digital GmbH.
Omnicom singled out Smart Digital’s proprietary AI platform and data capabilities as a key reason for the investment, noting that it enables “real-time customer experiences” based on recognizing what digital “touchpoints” consumers are present on.
OPMG CEO Luke Taylor says the deal complements Omnicom’s own proprietary tools, such as its company-wide Omni platform.
Founded in Gerlinger, Germany in 2011, Smart Digital expanded into more than 30 international markets.
Terms were not disclosed and the transaction is subject to regulatory approval, but it’s expected to close in the third quarter.
