First Lady's Name Hijacked For Scam Email

Fraud artists are using U.S. First Lady Melania Trump’s name in a scam email in an apparent effort to glean data.

The email, which has the subject line “I am Mrs Melania Trump,” says that the recipient can win $18 million, according to the Express.

The poorly written message asks for the person’s home address, city phone number and state, and says the person will receive a check for the above sum as the victim supplies the information, the report says.

The email provides a phone number with a traditional Washington DC area code: 202. However, that can also be used for 19 other countries, the story notes.

The sender says: “You can call me or send me an SMS,” but adds: “I prefer SMS because I’m always busy in the White House.”
