Amazon, Google Sued By Songwriter Reps Over Pirated Music

A series of lawsuits filed last week claim Amazon and Google failed to police their music marketplaces and allow pirated recordings to serve up in search results. The lawsuits, filed last week by organizations representing top songwriters such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, and Billie Holiday, suggest the bootlegged versions of albums appear in each companies’ music store in searches next to the legitimate versions from record companies.
