To commemorate its 95th anniversary issue, The New Yorker had artist Barry Blitt
transform its trademark monocled cover boy Eustace Tilley into an ape.
"Tilley" has been featured -- in some form -- on every cover of the venerable magazine's anniversary issue
nearly every February.
Click the cover art above to see an animated version of the "evolution."

The New Yorker's Art Editor
Françoise Mouly, about creating the new cover.
