Verizon Media’s mobile-first, youth content network
In The Know is partnering with culture brand
Complex and its music-focused channel
Pigeons & Planes to launch
“In The Know: Making It,” a digital miniseries with a behind-the-scenes look at six up-and-coming music artists.
Complex Networks was formed from the acquisition of
Complex Media Inc. through a joint venture by Verizon and Hearst in 2016.
The new series, which premiered Wednesday, features one artist each week.
The debut
episode follows Omar Apollo, a 22-year-old, self-taught musician who went from living in his friend’s basement to playing venues across the country in just a year.
Other music
artists featured in the series include Umi, Baby Rose, Jelani, Kenny Mason and Earthgang.
The two media brands partnered to produce mobile-first digital content for Gen Z and
millennial audiences using 5G technology.
