Mimecast Limited is integrating its email security data into the IBM Resilient Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) platform, the company announced on Wednesday.

The arrangement will provide joint customers with the ability to take fast action on security alerts and their enhance their safety, the company says.

IBM Resilient is taking from the Mimecast Security Email Gateway to produce a dashboard of malicious activity, it adds.

SOAR platforms trigger “a remediation process to address incoming threats or other incidents happening in their environment,” states Christina Van Houten, chief strategy officer, Mimecast.

The company notes that email continues to be a top attack vector because of its widespread use as a communication channel by businesses.

The new capability is available to the security community through IBM Security App Exchange.
