Edison Mail has added new contact features to its email app, available for iOS and Android.

Users can now click on a contact’s email address to access all emails, images and files from that person, the company says.  

It’s not clear what an email marketer would gain from this, but it could help people who use their email inbox as their filing system.

Changes can be auto-saved to the user’s address book, the company says.

After tapping the email address, the user is brought to a page with five tabs: Info, Images, Files, Emails and Events. 

In addition, the Info tab will show the email address. And other information, including phone number and physical address, will be displayed if the person is in the user’s phone book.

Edison Mail can be downloaded on the Play Store.
