Will Lewis is exiting his post as Dow Jones CEO and publisher of The Wall Street Journal, according to News Corp.
The Wall Street Journal reported his contract was not
renewed.
The company stated it expects to replace Jones in a few weeks.
During his tenure, Dow Jones and its businesses saw a hike in subscriptions, more than 3.5 million as of
February, while the WSJ exceeded 2 million digital-only subs in the same month, per News Corp. Barron’s subscriptions were also up 8% YOY, per News Corp.

Robert Thomson stated Lewis’ “inspirational leadership helped his company and colleagues reach new heights of journalistic excellence and financial accomplishment.”
Lewis was
named interim CEO in January 2014 and was made permanent five months later. He joined News Corp in 2010 as Group General Manager of News International (News UK) and was promoted to Chief Creative
Officer in 2013.
Previously, he was Editor in Chief of the Telegraph Media Group and business editor of The Sunday Times.
