Consumers Increased Their Online Shopping In April, Study Finds

Most consumers expect to continue and possibly increase their online shopping once the COVID-19 pandemic is over, according to statistics released last week by Namogoo.

Of the individuals polled in April, 91% had made at least one online purchase that month. In addition, 14% had purchased online for the first time, and 56% had increased their online spend.

Going forward, 40% expect to spend over $100 online per month.

The most popular product types were:

  • Personal care — 55%
  • Household —51% 
  • Food — 47%
  • Clothing and accessories — 47% 
  • Electronics — 33% 
  • Other items from a supermarket— 32%

Namogoo surveyed 1,000 U.S. consumers.
