Media.net's Karan Dalal Joins IAB Tech Lab Board

As advertisers and publishers look to the realities of a cookie-free, privacy-forward future, the IAB Tech Lab is adding a new voice from the industry: Media.net.

The lab announced today that Karan Dalal, who serves as senior vice president for the company, will join its board of directors.

Dalal will guide the lab’s work as it develops contextual advertising and cookie-less identity standards and transparency and brand safety, in addition to other areas.

“Media.net and our partners see contextual targeting as a powerful constant in these changing times. As the industry develops new, privacy-first identity solutions that deliver on marketing goals, but don't rely on the cookie, it’s vital to collaborate closely with technology leaders across advertising,” Dalal stated.

The IAB Tech Lab’s agenda is developed by its independent board, which works to create guidelines, write specs, fashion foundational technology and provide services that support alignment and standardization for growth across the advertising industry.

Dennis Buchheim, president, IAB Tech Lab, stated: “With data privacy and transparency top-of-mind, our guidance and technology in these areas have become even more important. Media.net’s technology-first approach to problem solving and their strong ties to India and the broader global marketplace make them a great contributor to Tech Lab, and we’re excited to add Media.net and Karan Dalal to our board.”

Dalal has worked with Media.net for over a decade and was one of its first employees, heading supply operations and managing some of its key publisher partnerships out of its New York office.
