Spotify Launches on Comcast's Xfinity Flex and X1

Users of Comcast's Infinity Flex and X1 platforms can now listen to Spotify tracks and podcasts on their televisions through those platforms.

Starting today, all Xfinity Flex customers can say “Spotify” into their Xfinity voice remote and log in with existing credential to access Spotify's free or premium service levels. Spotify also began rolling out to X1 customers today, as an Internet app alongside the live, on demand and streaming content on the platform.

New customers will be able to create a Spotify account directly on the device and gain immediate access to the free, ad-supported version of the service.

Both Comcast and Spotify report having seen double-digit growth in streaming music consumption year-to-date compared to the same period last year.

Music streaming on Xfinity X1 and Flex is at an all-time high, according to Rebecca Heap, senior vice president, video and entertainment, Comcast Cable.

X1 and Flex already carry multiple audio services, including Pandora, Amazon Music, Radio.com, iHeartRadio, XITE, NPR One, Music Choice, Stingray Music and Baeble.
