Pocket Outdoor Media Acquires 3 Divisions Of AIM

Pocket Outdoor Media, a sports-media platform, has acquired three divisions of Active Interest Media (AIM): Healthy Living, Fitness and Outdoor.

The deal beefs us POM’s stable of enthusiast magazines.

The newly acquired AIM titles include Yoga Journal, SKI, Climbing, Backpacker, Muscle & Performance, Vegetarian Times and SNEWS, which covers outdoor-adventure travel-trade news, among others.

The roster compliments POM’s sports brands, such as Women’s Running, Triathlete and PodiumRunner.

Robin Thurston, CEO of Pocket Outdoor Media, stated: “The strength of these collective brands positions us to build the premier active lifestyle media destination to meet the needs and interest of our readers on a daily basis, whether they’re beginners or experts.”

Pocket Outdoor Media, which spans web, print, podcast, social and video, claims its brands engage with 15 million consumers.

John Spinale, managing partner at JAZZ Venture Partners, which just closed a Series A investment in the company, added the “synergies of these iconic brands” would allow POM to “deliver an integrated experience never seen before.

Active Interest Media, which produces leading events, websites, magazines, podcasts, films, and TV shows, says it reaches 40+ million readers and attendees in 85 countries.
