Dow Jones To Make Content, Data Available On AWS Data Exchange

Dow Jones and Amazon Web Services will make five years of English language news from Dow Jones Newswires available on AWS Data Exchange.

The cloud computing platform is a service offering customers access to Dow Jones’ metadata and content, and the ability to integrate it into other data sets and tools.

“The archive covers every asset class, offering broad coverage of equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities and energy markets, as well as key regions worldwide, economic indicators and central banks and company news,” reads the description to the five-year archive offering.

“This data set is ideal for quantitative strategies, ready to be incorporated into algorithmic trading, asset allocation applications and market-risk models and used to derive news sentiment indicators.”

AWS customers can now purchase, access and analyze content from Dow Jones Newswires, as well as The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and MarketWatch.

“We are extending access to our content not just to financial market participants, but to any company in the world making data-driven business decisions,” stated William Ashworth, general manager of partners & licensing for Dow Jones’ Professional Information Business.

Access to the five-year archive costs $15,000 for an annual subscription.

Customers can also get a one-week news archive sample for free.

Dow Jones moved its data center to the AWS platform in 2014.
