
Former Hearst exec Mike Dugan is joining G/O Media as Chief
Technology Officer.
Dugan will lead all technology operations at the company, such as development, IT, product and QA efforts across G/O Media's portfolio of brands,
which includes The A.V. Club, Deadspin, Jalopnik, Jezebel, Kotaku, Lifehacker, The Takeout, The Root, The Onion and The Inventory.
“I look forward to continuing
to evolve the technology platform with new product ideas and innovation with a focus on creating best-in-class experiences for consumers and marketers alike,” Dugan stated.
Dugan was most recently CTO at Hearst Magazines. He was responsible for all product and engineering teams supporting the digital publishing and content delivery platform, as well as the CDS
Global customer data=management platforms.

He succeeds Jesse Knight, who left in late July to pursue a startup opportunity.
Jim Spanfeller, CEO of G/O Media,
touted Dugan’s accomplishments improving content production and ad tech.
“Mike joins our team with all of the tools necessary to lead G/O Media's industry leading brands
to visitor and advertiser experience improvements,” he stated.
