iHeartMedia Launches Amy Brown Podcast Network

Podcaster Amy Brown has teamed with iHeartMedia to create her eponymous network.

Conal Byrne, president of the iHeartPodcast Network, called “health and wellness one of the most important categories in the medium right now.” Brown called the work of the network to empower people “inspiring.”

The three podcasts are: “Outweigh With Amy Brown and Lisa Hayim,” which addressed eating disorders with dietitian Hayim; “The Truthiest Life With Lisa Hayim,” which encourages listeners to be their true selves; and “You Need Therapy With Kathryn DeFatta.”

Brown began her radio career in 2006 with “The Bobby Bones Show.” The country morning show is syndicated by Premiere Networks and reaches millions of listeners on 170 stations in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, Brown co-hosts two nationally-syndicated weekend programs: “Country Top 30 with Bobby Bones,” a four-hour weekend music countdown show heard on 225 stations nationwide, and “Women of iHeartCountry,” on 135 iHeartCountry stations across the U.S.

Separately, mobile video brand NowThis is launching its latest podcast, the daily “NowThis Brief,” a look at the top five news stories that matter to millennials. The morning round-up briefs listeners in five minutes.

The podcast launches in partnership with Spoken Layer and is available via Spotify, Apple Podcast, Amazon and Google voice. Andy Lipset, CEO of SpokenLayer, said “creating content that is quick to consume, and at the same time is germane to audiences is critical.”
