Oliver Knox Exits SiriusXM To Author 'WaPo' Newsletter

The Washington Post has hired SiriusXM political correspondent Oliver Knox to anchor its flagship politics newsletter The Daily 202.

The newsletter covers the inner-workings of Washington politics and policy.

The Daily 202 reaches the largest government audience of all WaPo newsletters, according to the publisher. It experienced a 20% jump in readership year-over-year.

Knox will provide reporting and analysis on the incoming Biden administration and the new Congress, according to Rachel Van Dongen, editor of The Washington Post’s PowerPost, a franchise of “202” newsletters focused on Washington, D.C.’s decision makers.

The Daily 202 was launched in 2015, anchored by political reporter James Hohmann. He is moving to a new role in Opinions at the newspaper.

Knox, who has covered all the presidential campaigns and administrations in the last 20 years, was previously chief Washington correspondent for SiriusXM. He hosted a live, three-hour show each weeknight focused on politics, foreign policy and the federal government.
