CDC's Design Contest: Build A Better Mask

The Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention just announced a contest to “accelerate the next generation of masks,” according to the challenge’s website. Until April 21, "They are asking people to submit a design that improves upon an existing mask design, or go completely off the rails and create a new design that incorporates materials and technologies that haven’t yet been used in existing masks," according to Fast Company. A total of $500,000 will be paid out, $10,000 to 10 first-phase winners and "a grand prize of $400,000 to be divided between five winners."
