Crain Communications has acquired a digital media brand that covers financial news of the growing cannabis business. 

Green Market Report focuses on “the financial, business and economic side of the cannabis industry, so it's a natural fit  with our other business brands," states KC Crain, president and CEO of Crain Communications.   

Terms of the transaction, which will close on Sept. 30, were not disclosed. 

Green Market Report, which claims 150,000 page views per month, was founded in 2017 by Debra Borchardt, a  financial journalist and former Wall Street executive, and Cynthia Salarizadeh, a legal cannabis industry insider and public relations expert. Borchardt is CEO.

New York-based Green Market Report will join Crain’s 21-brand portfolio that employs over 650 people and spans 10 offices.
