Conde Nast’s Vogue Paris will be renamed Vogue France with its November issue.
Why Vogue France?
“Because creativity, culture, art and fashion are everywhere,” new editor Eugenie Trochu writes. “They are the greatest vectors of inclusiveness and diversity.
“From Paris to Marseille, from Lille to Strasbourg, our identity is not born from a single place, and Vogue represents the best of emerging talents and voices.”
However, the move also reflects a reorganization by Conde Nast of its titles in Europe as it seeks to build global brands.
Trochu, formerly fashion editor of Vogue.fr, recently was named editor of Vogue Paris, replacing Emmanuelle Alt, who stepped down earlier this year after a decade as EIC.

Trochu reports to Conde Nast’s Chief Content Officer Anna Wintour and Vogue’s European editorial director Edward Enninful, both of whom assumed those titles late last year.
A parade of editors has left Conde Nast in recent months, including Emanuele Farneti, former editor of Vogue Italia. Farneti was replaced by Francesca Ragazzi.
The name change at Vogue France “was first reported by Le Figaro last week, which detailed an ideological shift underway at the magazine as part of the publisher’s new global consolidation plan,” write Business of Fashion.
“Our upcoming issue, launching on November 4th, embodies this manifesto, explores and redefines the cultural richness of France, advocates for both individuality and community and the power of diversity and inclusivity,” Trochu said.
