Ford, Volkswagen, Honda, BMW and Volvo are backing efforts by President Joe Biden's administration to restore California's ability to set its own strict tailpipe and zero-emission vehicle standards. The automakers in a court filing backed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's decision to restore the authority that was withdrawn under former President Donald Trump. “Seventeen states have agreed to adopt California's tailpipe emissions rules and 15 have backed its zero-emission vehicle requirements,” per Reuters.
