Ford Motor Co. Responds To Abortion Ruling

Most Michigan companies are treading carefully in responding to the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturn of Roe vs. Wade. Of the big Michigan companies Crain's Detroit Business contacted, most declined to respond or said they were “evaluating” -- except for Ford, which said "medical decisions are best left to individuals and their medical providers. We understand this issue is an important one for many people, with different implications in different states in which we have operations. All Ford plans cover some forms of abortion services, and employees with Health Savings Accounts can use those funds for reimbursement of transportation for essential medical care.”
