Customer platform Klaviyo will serve as the recommended email partner for Shopify Plus, the firms announced this week.
In addition, Shopify will make a strategic investment in Klaviyo. Klaviyo confirms the reported investment as $100 million.
As part of the deal, Klaviyo will also receive early access to new Shopify development features. Klaviyo is rated a “top” solution in the Shopify App Store, the firms say.
“Klaviyo has become invaluable to hundreds of thousands of merchants to help them better understand their customers and engage them in highly personalized ways across so many touchpoints,” states Harley Finkelstein, president of Shopify.
Klaviyo, which has been part of the Shopify Ecosystem since 2017, has worked with Shopify to serve brands such as Loeffler Randall, Glossier, and OSEA.
In June, Klaviyo launched a tool to help large brands unify their customer data to deliver what the firm says is personalized experiences at scale. The new product, Klaviyo One eliminates the work it takes to get an entire tech stack to work in a unified fashion, the firm says.
Klaviyo says it seeks partnerships with firms that share its values and mission.
In addition to Shopify, Klaviyo's software integrates with Magento, BigCommerce, Stripe, and WooCommerce and over 220 apps.
