Yahoo has appointed Kat Downs Mulder senior vice president and general manager of Yahoo News, Yahoo’s news and information site. 

Downs Mulder will oversee global products, editorial and strategy for a unified Yahoo News, including the Yahoo home page, news, entertainment and lifestyle content. 

“I look forward to being part of this next chapter of Yahoo’s journey as we develop products and services that will shape the future of how people get their information," Downs Mulder says.

Downs Mulder has served at The Washington Post for 14 years, most recently as chief product officer and managing editor. Prior to taking on that role, she was vice president of product & design, overseeing the user experience across homepage, articles pages, newsletters and apps.
