Publicis Reports Record Earnings, Gives $50M 'Exceptional Bonus' To Half Its Employees

Publicis Groupe CEO Arthur Sadoun gave a big “merci” to the agency holding company’s staff, announcing that it will give half its rank and file staff – about half its employees who don’t participate in any variable remuneration – an additional one week salary bonus next month, as part of its third quarter earnings announcement this morning.

An analysis by Campaign magazine estimates that “exceptional bonus” is equal to about $50 million, and according to Sadoun is being granted for two reasons: recognition of their “outstanding efforts” contributing to record quarterly earnings, as well as the “context of inflation.”

Noting that Publicis delivered double-digit earnings growth for the third quarter in a row, Publicis once again boosted its organic growth guidance for 2022 to 8.5% from “6.5% to 7.0%” previously.

While Publicis did not issue any guidance yet for 2023, Sadoun told analysts that the company has not yet seen any significant cutbacks from clients due to “ongoing macroeconomic uncertainties.”
