Marvel, Shopify Team Up To Offer Licensed Products

Multi-media brand Marvel has launched what it claims is the first major entertainment app on Shopify.  

The Marvel Design Collection app allows Shopify merchants to offer licensed Marvel lifestyle products to their customers, the firm says.   

Marvel thus joins “our ecosystem of partners who help Shopify merchants further enhance and customize their commerce offerings," states Glen Coates, VP product, Shopify. 

The app is powered by Mad Engine Global, which first collaborated with Marveo over 20 years ago. 

This move represents “another milestone as part of our overall business evolution and innovation strategy,” said Paul Gitter, SVP, Marvel Licensing.

Marvel Entertainment, LLC a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. It offers a library of more than 8,000 characters.

Coates adds that the Marvel fanbase is “incredibly passionate.” 

In a separate development, Target is breaking an ad co-created with Marvel Studios that takes place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the studio prepares to release “Black Panther:  Wakanda Forever.” It features Riri Williams.
