Hearst Magazines has teamed up with GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) to launch the 11th edition of the GLAAD Media Reference Guide.
This is the standard style book for reporting on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) individuals and the issues that affect their lives.
The edition, the first major update to the guide in five years, is a collaboration between GLAAD and over 10 editors and members of the Hearst Pride ERG.
“The media guide is an important resource designed to ensure that members of the LGBTQ community are represented and reflected across Hearst Magazines portfolio of brands - along with that of other leading media organizations - with clarity, authenticity and the highest level of respect,” states Heath Owens, senior commerce editor at Hearst Magazines and co-chair of Hearst Pride.
The updated guide is to be be celebrated in an event at Hearst Tower on Wednesday.
