The Economist' Seeks To Increase Digital Presence With PressReader Partnership

The Economist has expanded its strategic partnership with PressReader in an effort to broaden its digital distribution worldwide.

PressReader will become the exclusive third-party digital replica distributor of The Economist, in the public library, hotel, aviation, marine and healthcare spaces.

This model enables publishers to “engage with potential subscribers and global readers through our vast network of partners in over 150 countries," states Ruairí Doyle, CEO of PressReader Group of companies.

In the initial partnership formed earlier this year, The Economist joined PressReader’s catalog of content.

As part of the new arrangement, which takes effect on Jan. 1,  PressReader will also help drive group subscriptions across the above verticals for The Economist’s digital products, including  economist.com and Expresso apps.

In the interim, readers can read The Economist via PressReader in public libraries and in the travel and tourism spaces.

PressReader also delivers content for such titles as Bloomberg, Foreign Affairs, Los Angeles Times, La Vanguardia, The Globe and Mail, The Guardian, Newsweek, Forbes, Le FigaroandVanity Fair.
