Twitter Is Closing Revue, Its Email Newsletter Service

Twitter is shutting down Revue, the email newsletter platform it acquired last year.

"We'll cut to the chase: from January 18, 2023, it will no longer be possible to access your Revue account,” Twitter informed users.  “On that date, Revue will shut down and all data will be deleted."

Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, has indicated he wants to buy the email newsletter service Substack.

Still, the decision was disconcerting given the fanfare with which Twitter announced it had acquired Revue, a Netherlands-based service for an undisclosed sum in January 2021.

Twitter said it hoped to offer writers and publishers new ways to create and share their content.

Later that year, Twitter said it was launching a feature called Super Follows through which creators could charge for exclusive content.

Twitter was only one of the major tech platforms offering newsletter services at that time. Meta announced one called Bulletin and Google provided Museletter. Both have been discontinued.
